Microsoft x64 Operating system
- XP Pro x64 and Server 2003 x64
- 64 bit processing, twice as fast as current 32 bit

- If you buy a 64 bit processor system with 32 bit O/S you can upgrade the license to
a 64 bit O/S
- When you by XP or 2003 64 bit O/S you will be required to also purchase software
assurance
- 2006 the completely new O/S tagged Longhorn will be release
802.11b-g (Wi-Fi : Wireless Fidelity)- wireless interoffice/home networking.
Good points:
- Eliminates wires in the walls.
- Allows freedom in the work place to move from
the desk any other place in the office.
- Fast transmission speeds of up to 11 mbps
- Maximum distance around 100 feet
(Manufactures will claim more distance but, the
transmission speed decreases the farther you are from the access point)
Bad points:
- If not configured properly your data is open to
anyone with a wireless network card in their computer.
- Maximum distance around 100 feet
(Walls, other objects and your body can effect the
distance from which you can connect to the access point)
